Theophany - 2011

Theophany (from Greek theophania, meaning "appearance of God") is one of the Great Feasts of the Orthodox Church, celebrated on January 6th of each year. It commemorates Christ's baptism by St. John the Forerunner, in the River Jordan, and the beginning of Christ's earthly ministry.

The Theophany was held at Yarra Bay on Sunday 9th January 2011. The weather forecast was showers throughout the day, however around the bay and for the majority of the day, there was a bright blue patch in the sky, surrounded with some light clouds, as seen in images #21 and #59.
